My name is Lynne Miller Goebeler and I have many interests, including motorcycle touring, all kinds of travel, reading, writing, music, nature, wine, and just generally enjoying life.
After a lifetime of preparation, my husband Jerry and I were able to reinvent our reality in March of 2015 by retiring from our day jobs. Halleluyah! So in addition to our motorcycle travel, we have added a motorcoach to allow us to fulfill a longtime dream of towing the bikes, and using the coach as a base to explore all the fabulous roads in this great United States. Chronicling these travels is the main focus of this blog, however, you may stumble upon other topics here from time to time. As is the case for far too many people our age, my mother passed in 2017 after 5 years of living with dementia, so I have written about that topic as well.
Welcome, and I hope you are able to find a common thread here.

We are both professionals and have new jobs since 2012….they take up more of our time with less time to ride these days. Is it worth it? We hope so because we both know we love to work and with some patience we will get back to our ADV lifestyle on two wheels. Good luck with your writing, mom and blog. Thanks for your honest comment about female gear on our site.

Ha, that is so funny, I was just leaving a comment on your “About” page! π I have read your story and understand you are focusing more on your careers, just while my husband and I are hoping to wind ours down! But then, we are a *few* years older than you too! The universe seems to put us in the right place just when we need it, so carry on, and I am sure it will bring you where you need to be. Thank you for your likes and good wishes. I am of similar mind about women’s gear, as you can tell, so I will eagerly await your updates. And I can tell you it IS possible to fit in riding with two professional careers, it just takes planning and persistence. I look forward to keeping up with your lives in 2014!

Hi Lynne – wow whoever said life should be easy was smoking a lot of pot on a tropical island while being served a mojito with one of those cute little umbrella’s in it! Not an easy journey – this life – but as long as we are still finding joy in as many moments as we possibly can it will not be for nothing. Your mom is very blessed to have you in her life – thank you for the follow. I look forward to reading your posts!

My father has dementia (alcohol related). It is incredibly painful to watch a brilliant man’s mind deteriorate, especially when he could stop drinking and slow the decline.

Hi Kitt, welcome and thanks for the follow! I am so sorry to hear about your father. Dementia is such a horrific disease, and has so many causes, although many instances, like my mother’s, there is no defined cause. It is heartbreaking to watch the decline of a parent, but particularly so with dementia. I am now the parent, it seems.

Hi, came over here because I saw your comment to me on Claire’s post and realised you probably wouldn’t get bed of my reply on there. I never got yours. Those dastardly WordPress Gremlins π hopefully she will sort it soon.

Hi Andy, you are right, no notifications from Claire. WP is full of gremlins, but I will definitely see you in the comments of Stranger going forward, regardless π

Hi Lynne. I’ve been approached by a woman who wants John and I to test her motorcycle gear. I’ve politely declined as John and I wouldn’t make it out of the drive way alive but mentioned you. She would like me to share your contact if interested.

Hello!
I got a chance to look through curvyroads.info, and I think your site and audience would be the perfect fit for getting the word out about our brand. I am working on a brand initiative for Bike Bandit, and am reaching out to see if you would be interested in collaborating with us on one of our current projects. If you want to learn more about our brand, you can check out our website at http://www.bikebandit.com. Let me know if you’re interested in working with us, and I’d be happy to send over some more details. I look forward to hearing from you!Β

Hi Daniela, thank you for reaching out. I would be interested in hearing more about the type of collaboration you have in mind. We are currently on a two month RV and bike trip so my access is hit and miss, but I promise to take a look when I am able! You can email me on Lgoebeler@gmail.com.
Again, thanks for your interest.
