I must offer a big THANK YOU to the hearty folks who have followed along as I ever so slowly chronicled our first big RV adventure! I have struggled with this series because there is so much more fun and adventure to share, but alas, I think I need to give the magnificent Glacier National Park and its Canadian sister-park Waterton Lakes National Park their due coverage in this post, and then move on to more recent adventures. About last summer, Part 4-The Big Horns and Medicine Wheel
Oh. My. God. How is it possible that I last posted in February? All I can say in my defense is that retiring is the single best decision we have ever made and that we have been living the dream since March of 2015. Between RV trips, bike trips, and the occasional car trip, it doesn’t leave much time for documenting all the fun!
As a reminder, this bucket list adventure took place in the summer of 2015. I considered just letting this story end with part 3, but there is still so much more to share from this trip. So…if you haven’t followed from the beginning, or you are a normal human and can’t remember everything you read MONTHS ago, here is the link to go back to Part 1. That big next step…
We interrupt the story of our Inaugural retirement trip to Texas to make a BIG announcement!
We did it; we are the proud owners of an RV!
But before we go there a little background. Those of you who have followed curvyroads for any length of time know that we have dreamed about, thought about, talked about, researched and obsessed over RVs and choosing an RV for a long, long time.

I have spent almost 30 years in corporate life, with the first ten in the relative security of a large private insurer, and the last 19 and a half in the much more volatile telecommunications industry. Those of you who are familiar will understand living with the quarterly, if not monthly, fear of being impacted by a reduction in force (RIF), lay off, redundancy, or any other fun term you may have heard for losing your job. I was truly fortunate to have survived dozens of these events, plus mergers, bankruptcy, flaming implosion, CEO going to jail, more mergers and acquisitions over almost 20 years. My husband had lived through years of the same in similar hi-tech industries, although in smaller, start-up companies, before finding his calling in the motorcycle business.

2014 in review and Happy New Year!
The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog, which was the perfect nudge for me to create a look back at the year that has just passed. My blog stats are nothing to write home about, but certainly more than I ever could have hoped or imagined when I started this blog in September of 2013.
