Hello world. I have been threatening to create a blog as an outlet, means of discovery, way to figure out what I want to be when I grow up, test of whether anyone will read what I write and more…so here goes.

I must admit, as much as I want to “reinvent” myself, I seem to be stuck. I have started many things, but seem unable to progress beyond starting them. I have signed up for reinvention workshops, training programs, read countless blogs and articles, printed out lists to live by, suggestions on how to stop procrastinating, decrease stress, accept change, be happier, lose bad habits, gain good habits, and on and on.

But I haven’t finished any of them. I obtained a workbook on reinvention and once started, it took me so long to get back to it; the reinvention guru had already changed her approach. So, now I need a NEW reinvention workbook! 🙂

But in all this reading, studying and starting, I have come across a few nuggets of wisdom (or maybe just common sense), that I want to gather all in one place, for easy reference.

Here goes:

Happiness is all about attitude – I can choose to be happy NOW, not “when I …”

Gratitude: I have many wonderful people and aspects of my life that I need to remember and acknowledge daily.

Learn to meditate. Quiet my mind, unplug, figure out who I really am and what I really love.

Simplify and keep things in context. The old saying “don’t make a mountain out of a molehill” comes to mind here.  Don’t create obstacles where there really are none.

Breathe. Deeply and often. It’s usually not as bad as it seems.

Admire the flowers, the sunset and sunrise, and the stars. It does the soul good.

Be kind, do favors, let that crazed driver in, and tell someone how I feel.

Get out of my comfort zone – challenge myself and my old, dusty beliefs.

Don’t wait. My vision of my future doesn’t have to be perfect; I can evolve along the way.

Eat the elephant one bite at a time. Set small goals and celebrate achieving them.

Create a blog. Check.

    • Thanks for the support, Nancy! I need to come back and read this post more regularly so I don’t get all wrapped up in the noise going on in my life, and can keep moving forward. 🙂
