Day 2 of the Brave, Bold, Blogger Challenge (BBBC) issued by my moto-blog friend Kathy, aka Toadmama!
I am continuing the charge with my second post, on the second (oops, third) day of February! Yippee!
Yesterday’s prompt is ‘a special memory from 2016’. Honestly, it was a struggle to pick just one special memory from a year of blessings, travel, and memories, but I chose our RV/motorcycle trip to Texas last March. Texas was the place hub and I met and holds so many fond memories for us, as well as, dear friends to visit.
We had an inauspicious start, with my love burning his hand on a hot pipe while loading the bikes. Ouch! A visit to the urgent care center on the way out of town, and we were on our way…
We spent our first night in Texas at gorgeous Sunset Point RV Resort on Lake LBJ in Marble Falls.
The next morning, we drove to Fredericksburg and our site for the next week at Fredericksburg RV Park, which is an ideal spot for enjoying the town and the surrounding Hill Country. It’s even walking distance to historic downtown Fredericksburg. So why don’t I have any photos? We’ll just have to return!
The next morning, we completed an appointment with a hand specialist to examine hub’s burned hand and made the decision to rent a car for the next day’s visit to San Antonio, rather than subject his injury to a motorcycle ride so soon. The time for that would come, but later…
The following morning we headed to San Antonio to enjoy a lovely dinner on the Riverwalk with our local hosts and visiting friends converging on Texas for a few days of wine tasting.
Back to Fredericksburg the following day to tour and taste at several of the fine wineries on the Texas Wine Trail, which generally winds along US 290, between Austin and Fredericksburg.
At our favorite, William Chris Vineyards
And at Kuhlman Cellars
And we ended a fabulous visit with a true Texas dining experience at the legendary Hondo’s.
Sounds like fun, except for the hand. Hope there’s a speedy and full recovery!

It was fun, and hand healed up really well. This trip was last March…of course I hadn’t written about it previously, lol. I actually have a draft started (last October) of the second part of that trip, when we went to Big Bend. Gotta get back to that post soon too!

Sounds like a lovely trip! Hubby and I went to Fredericksburg the last time we were in TX. It was a work trip that we stretched into a long weekend. It was a cute town with a great German restaurant. We were quite surprised to find the Pacific war museum.

Yes, it is a very cute town with lots of history. And there are some seriously great roads within a days ride too! 😊🏍
