I enjoy all kinds of sandwiches, so choosing just one was, well, a challenge. Perfect for the BBBC!
As I pondered this latest prompt, there were a lot of contenders. Several of the usual favorites came to mind, like Italian, Club, or a shrimp Po-boy.
These days, my go-to luncheon meal is typically two slices of lean turkey meat, each one rolled around a half slice of pepper Jack cheese. Right; no bread, no condiments. Seriously, I savor the taste of the meat and cheese and it saves a ton of carbs.
However, if we’re talking FAVORITE sandwich, it must include bread and all the gooey bad stuff.
My choice is the Rachel, leaner, healthier (just barely) sister to the Reuben: seeded rye bread, lean turkey, tangy sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese, all melted together in a glorious grilled concoction! Yum!
This post is part of the Brave, Bold, Blogger Challenge (BBBC) issued by my moto-blog friend Kathy, aka ToadMama, to cover 28 blog prompts in the month of February. And good for undisciplined me, no rules either.
Prompt: Your favorite sandwich
That sound yummy! I haven’t tried that one before…gotta now!

That’s me…now I have to go on a hunt for one…ummm…I wonder who makes it around here. I just might have to go grocery shopping and make one for myself 🙂

I googled it for a photo, and there are several great recipes online for a Rachel 🙂 I hope you love it!

A healthier version of a reuben sandwich. Does it still have the thousand island dressing?

It does…that, of course, can be eliminated to make it MUCH healthier, but a little bit of thousand island is a must for me. 🙂

hot Pastrami on warm soft rye, plenty of spicy brown mustard, an ice cold diet Dr Brown’s black cherry. And a pickle.
Or a perfect medium rare cheeseburger.

That sandwich looks delicious. For me it will have to remain in the fantasy realm because the cheese and whatever is helping to build that grilled bread will break the bank for me in terms of fat.
Oh well, looking and smelling is still ok…

Yes, it is definitely a once in a while treat, not a regular thing!
